Origin

TELESCOPI ESPAÑA was born from a commitment made by the UNESCO Chair of Higher Education Management (CUDU), Universitat Politècncia de Catalunya, in an event co-organized with the CINDA Network (Centre for Interuniversity Development) in May 2006 in Barcelona. In this event 17 good practices in management and administration of universities were shared and debated and, in view of the aroused interest, the CUDU pledged to create an "observatory" in order to meet the need for the creation of a platform for sharing practical and useful information, making it available to all institutions who wanted to share it.

Drawing upon this commitment, in 2008 CUDU launched the "Telescopi CUDU", an observatory of good practices in university management directed at the spanich universities. Then, with the establishment of the Telescopi Network in 2009, "Telescopi CUDU" has joined it adopting the name of Telescope España. Currently the network is constituted of 14 countries in Latin America and 4 countries in Europe. Each partner country corodiantes a national observatory that takes the name of each respective country.

In this context, Telescopi España has been the pioneer in promoting the first calls for Good Practices identification in the framework of the Network. Telescopi España promotes two annual calls for the identification and promotion of the platform of good practices at the Spanish university level.
