About us

UNESCO Chair of Higher Education Management

Description 

The UNESCO Chair of Higher Education Management (CUDU) is a unit of the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya - BarcelonaTech (UPC) whose mission is to promote innovation, quality and social commitment of higher education institutions through the development of people's talent in the field of management, and through debate, training, advice and the creation of scientific knowledge. The CUDU works to be an international referent in the development of higher education institutions, both in developing and developed countries.

Activities

The activities we develop are:

  • To lead and/or participate in capacity building projects in higher education institutions in developing countries.
  • To organize seminars, symposia and workshops on topics of interest to the management of higher education institutions.
  • To advise higher education institutions in the development of strategic plans (for example: in institutional, teaching and research fields); as well as to help them in their implementation.
  • Collaborate with research groups in the advancement of scientific knowledge related to the management of higher education institutions.
  • Coordinate the UPC Think Tank, a laboratory of ideas on the role of higher education institutions formed by a group of experts of a professional and research nature.

Team

Currently, the CUDU consists of:

  • Prof. Vicenç Fernández, Director of the CUDU and professor of the Department of Management.
  • Prof. Eva Gallardo-Gallardo, professor of the Department of Management and expert on talent management.
  • Prof. Jordi Torner, profesor del Departamento de expresión gráfica en la ingeniería y experto en diseño y aprendizaje a distancia.
  • Sr. Toni Florencio, CUDU research and innovation project manager.
